Massillon City Council considers Getz Building restroom upgrades

KEY ACTION: Gave second reading to a legislation request that — if approved — would appropriate $250,000 to upgrade restroom facilities in the Court Services Building, also known as the Getz Building, 54 City Hall St. SE.

The bulk of the planned project is to construct new public restrooms mainly for Duncan Plaza visitors, as well as making the building handicap accessible. Adding separate men’s and women’s restrooms to the facility are part of the effort.

OTHER ACTION: Gave first reading to a proposal to merge the public utilities and environmental committees into a single Public Utility group.

The legislation would also create a new Economic Development Committee that takes in some responsibilities of Community Development.
